Fondazione CERM is opening the selection for two research positions in Siena, within the Toscana Life Sciences scientific ecosystem. In the context of a research project directed by professor Rino Rappuoli, professor Fabio Pammolli will coordinate a research unit where scientists with diverse backgrounds will converge to study the recent evolution of science, markets and technology in the life sciences. 

Research program description
The research activity focuses on economic, financial and scientific/technological dynamics in the life sciences by using advanced techniques in econometrics, network analysis and machine learning. Relevant activities will include the study of coevolution among financial variables, industrial structure and division of innovative labour within the industry. The development of horizon scanning and forecasting models and the mapping of relations between scientific and industrial dynamics will be key objects of investigation. The analysis will be conducted using both proprietary and open source data, on R&D projects, scientific publications, and patents.

Degree or PhD in Economics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology
